How to find cheap accommodation

The main thing is that we consider all options: hotels, apartments and hostels, they have options for 2 or 4 people. Hostels are especially favorable if we fly a large company of 6-8 people. In this case there is a chance to rent the whole room just for the company.

We open a site to search for accommodation, for example, Booking, choose the desired dates and put the lowest price. So, choosing by cost and looking at the location, we will find the most suitable options.

It is better to search for apartments on AirBnB on the same principle, by putting filters. We always use both services. You can never predict where there will be discounts on housing just in our time frame.

Let’s put aside our prejudice towards hostels, if we have any. Now especially in large cities, there is a large selection of such housing, where you can quite comfortably spend a few days. This is relevant for single travelers, because the price in hotels for one person is always greatly inflated.

If we want to find accommodation for free - CouchSurfing can help us. This is a service that shows who is ready to shelter travelers. Search early, preferably a month or more in advance, because many hosts can respond for several days.

How to buy airline tickets profitably

We try to buy tickets at night or early in the morning, because prices are usually lower at this time and there is more choice. You’ll have to stay up a couple of nights.

We subscribe to the newsletter of airlines and destinations we like. This way we’ll be the first to know about the best deals and won’t spend a lot of time searching.

We look for tickets using the low price calendar - it lists all the cheapest destinations and dates.

Usually the best price for tickets is two or three months before departure, when there are still enough seats. The closer the departure date gets and the fewer seats are available, the more expensive the ticket becomes.

If we know in advance where we want to go next summer, we buy tickets as early as possible. It is ideal to do it in winter or any other low season.

Watch out for promotions during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. These days you can buy very cheap tickets, especially if we fly on European low-cost carriers.

We buy tickets with midweek departures, so they cost significantly less than on weekends.

One-way tickets are always more expensive, so we buy round-trip tickets. This option is not suitable if we do not know the date of return home.

We are not afraid to fly with connections. This is not only a great opportunity to see another city in a day, but also a favorable way to save money. Connecting flights can often cost several times cheaper than direct flights. Of course, you should plan your connection so that the time you have to spend in another city allows you to see it.

Flying low-coasters. If at the same time we do not need luggage, seat selection and meals, we can choose the cheapest ticket of all existing.

How to find an inexpensive tour and not go crazy

Choose mass destinations for the tour - those countries where tour operators book the largest number of hotel reservations and charter flights.

Be sure to read reviews of the tour operator, airline and hotel before traveling. This is a universal tip for any trip that will help you avoid unpleasant situations and get an unforgettable vacation experience.

Travel in the low season and not during the holidays. At such a time it will be possible not only to buy a tour at the best price, but also not to crowd at the airport with other tourists who have already arrived or, conversely, left.

If possible, buy “hot” tours. A few days before departure tour operators, as a rule, reduce prices to a minimum, and then you can buy a tour for a ridiculous price.

But do not buy too cheap tours. If the cost of the trip is so low that it raises suspicions, then, most likely, there is a reason for it. Either we will be poisoned in an old hotel that is out of town, or we may be left without meals. It may even happen that the trip is marked down - believe me the tour operator will find a reason if it is not profitable for him to sell the tour.

How to get a residence permit with passive income from €200 - Rantier visa

Immigration programs for rentiers are offered by 28 countries. A Rantier visa or residence permit can be obtained by people who have regular passive income from another country. Passive income in this context is income not related to daily labor activity. One of the most popular sources of passive income for a Rantier visa is renting out real estate.

Top 5 countries with required passive income not exceeding €2000/month

Chile - from $509/month
Portugal - from €760/month
Uruguay - from $1500/month
Argentina - from $1810/month
Cyprus - from €2000/month

List of required documents depending on the type of your passive income:
Document confirming the status of the owner of the object that brings regular passive income.
Notarized copy of document #1 with apostille.
When renting out real estate, a written rental agreement is required, it also needs to be notarized and apostilled.

A short guide to the new visas for digital nomads

Philippines

The program is scheduled to launch by the end of 2023.

  • The visa will be issued for one year with the possibility of renewal for another 12 months.
  • Visa conditions: no criminal record, local health insurance, proof of remote income (amount not yet known, place your bets gentlemen!).
  • Applicants will not be considered tax residents in the country and will not be subject to local taxes.

Czech Republic

The program is for citizens of the following countries: Australia, Canada, Japan, USA, South Korea, New Zealand, UK and Taiwan.

  • Applicants must have a long-term employment contract with a foreign company or be freelancers/self-employed in the IT field.
  • You can move with your family under the program.

Canada

Visa period - up to 6 months, not much, but with the possibility to find a job on the spot with a contract of up to 5 years (with an offer you can get a temporary work permit and even apply for Permanent Residence!).

  • The documentation requirements for nomads are still being developed by the Canadian government, most likely different provinces will have different opportunities for nomads and different minimum income to apply, but we’ll see.
  • Tentative application processing times are up to two months.

Uruguay

The main thing - there is no minimum income requirement, it is enough to declare under oath that you have the means to financially support yourself during the entire period (but just in case it is better to prepare additional evidence of sources of income outside the country).

  • The visa is valid for 6 months and can be extended for up to a year (you will need to be vaccinated in Uruguay and provide certificates of no criminal record for the last 5 years from all countries where the applicant has lived for at least 6 months).
  • The requirements also include an apostilled and Spanish translated certificate of no criminal record.
  • The application fee is $312 (or from a Uruguayan account within 24 hours of completing the application form).
  • Apply online after entering the country.
  • There is no personal income tax on fiscal resident income from foreign sources.
  • Application confirmation and residency authorization is sent via email.
  • Bonus track: you can request a residence permit almost immediately after entry in the absence of a criminal record, the presence of a confirmed income of $ 1500 per month, medical examination, is not issued quickly, but for this time the applicant receives a residence permit. After sending documents for a residence permit, the “counter” is turned on to apply for citizenship by naturalization (after 5 years of life with a residence permit for singles and after 3 years - for married).

Japan

Mysterious as the country itself, the Japanese program for digital nomads has only recently been announced, no details yet, except that the visa will be valid for more than 90 days, it will be necessary to confirm remote income (preliminary they say about the amount from $ 2500 to $ 5000 per month), waiting for details!

What country would you like to move to on a nomad visa?

The most comfortable and safest seats on an airplane

It seems that all airplane seats are the same. But this is not true: some seats are safer according to airplane accident statistics, others are safer in terms of moving around the cabin during the flight.

Here is a small instruction on how to choose a seat:

➡️ In the front rows of economy class, you’ll be among the first to get off the plane after landing, and you’ll also have more legroom.

➡️ Aisle seats give you the advantage of first exit, but you often can’t store carry-on luggage under the seat here, so all your luggage will have to be placed on the top shelves.

➡️ If you have the opportunity to fly Business Class, the front rows in this class offer comfort and spaciousness.

➡️ The last rows also have many advantages - fewer passengers choose them, and you can count on more space. It’s also statistically the back rows that are the safest in the event of an emergency.

How to move abroad with a cat

It is more difficult to move abroad with a cat than with a person. But if you understand the documents and the order of actions, everything becomes much easier.

What documents are needed to move a cat?

  • International chip
  • Chipping certificate
  • International veterinary passport with vaccination records
  • Rabies antibody certificate
  • International veterinary certificate
  • Documents of the country of arrival

If you do not have any of the vaccinations, you should start there. After the vaccinations, take care of the chip, international veterinary passport and tests.

You should arrive at the airport itself 5 days before departure to fill out the vet control paperwork and request authorization to import your pet.

This is the only way you will be able to take your beloved kitty out to a new life.
