Dortmund

Dortmund is a major city in western Germany, located in the federal state of North Rhine–Westphalia and part of the Ruhr region. Historically shaped by coal, steel, and brewing, it has transformed into a center for technology, services, and education. The city is known internationally for its football club, Borussia Dortmund, whose home stadium, Signal Iduna Park, is one of Europe’s largest. Dortmund also offers green spaces such as Westfalenpark and the Phoenix-See, a redeveloped waterfront area. Cultural highlights include the Dortmund U (a former brewery turned arts and creative hub) and several museums focusing on art and industrial heritage.
